Sigh

At once a cool website from a design standpoint and one of the more offensive paintings I have ever seen. Just check out which side they placed Satan.

Jesus wrote the Constitution? To me, it doesn't rise to the level of being offensive, but is kind of silly. I won't be getting a print.

To me this is national idolatry and I am pretty amazed, even for modern Evangelicals to go this far.

I notice the VERY small contingent of people of color as well. Interesting.

Well, talk about itching ears getting what they want, this is very nearly Mormon it it's rendition and style.

Awesome, Thomas Jefferson is standing behind Jesus with a "Gosh I hope He doesn't notice I took a pair of scissors to his biographies" look on his face. Okay, that's not actually his look. But it ought to be.

Kind of reminds me of the Conservative Bible Project, which is asinine on ever so many levels.

Uggh, Leighton. It is times like these I wish I could unread something. That was awful.

the black college student is holding the Skousen book, which the "artist" explains is the most important book in american history.

And I saw the conservative bible project. Rather funny, and not surprising at all. Unfortunately. :)

This is a Mormon painting, and painter.

The 'Tree of life' on Jesus' chest is from Lehi's Vision of the Tree of Life in the book of Mormon.

It appears to me that Mormon theology is creeping into Evangelicalism via political bedfellows. They would accept a conservative Mormon over a liberal Christian. Or so is my opinion. ;)

After all, re-writing the Scriptures to suit you is perilously near writing a new book!

I would agree. Politics makes strage bedfellows.

I don't know if this is bad form, but the blog I belong to has recently had a few fellow bloggers drop out of blogging and we are trying to get some more people, so we have some better discussions. We decided to ask on places where we post on a regular basis. Since I like the commentary and posts here, I thought I would extend an invitation. It is called Around the Keg.

Streak, if this is bad form, I apologize and will delete this.

If you want a wild eyed pinko Liberal, email me and lets discuss.

Bad form!

Heh. No problem whatsoever. I will drop by the website when I catch up on a few things and maybe even say something ridiculous. :)

Please do.
