I have read Niewert's blog off and on, and he writes at Crooks and Liars as well. I hope he is overstating the threat, but fear that he isn't. Anyway, here is the book:

I may have to check this one out from the library, but I am skeptical of the premise, from what I can tell from reviews. It seems long on conjecture and short on facts and research.
While I will readily concede that there is an element on the right that is not interested in much of a dialog, I do not see any evidence that points to a rise in domestic terrorism, militia violence, and crime that is motivated solely by hate. It just seems to be left wing paranoia.
Niewart has been studying this for a long time. I think you underestimate the violent aspect of American racism, especially on the fringe. That is where Niewart has spent a lot of the last decade, so I would be hesitant to dismiss it out of hand.
I am not dismissing him, nor am I denying that there isn't a violent fringe. I am skeptical of applying a causal relationship between these groups and windbags like Limbaugh and Beck.
Read Charles Colson's Gideon's Torch. It's a blue print for right wing terrorism.
