It seems that now the news media picks up and runs with announcements of pending announcements such that the meta-announcement itself becomes news. It is effectively announced, to the degree that the announcement's intent was to inform the public of the decision. Mission accomplished, so to speak.
What I wonder is, if there were no 24 hour news channels, would this still be newsworthy? That is, if a candidate falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear them, did they pander to anyone?
I wonder, too, how much this is an instance of the media deciding its own behavior is more noteworthy than actual events, and how much is (legitimate) hedging in not wanting to take responsibility for reporting Clinton's alleged concession as a fact. Given her email, it seems like a pretty good bet that she will, but I will still believe it the moment she concedes and not a second sooner.
Hey Streak - Could she just be staying in the campaign at this point in order to raise money? After all she just spent 6 million of her own money. I think she is living in some kind of alternate reality. Did you see her campaign manager on John Stewart last night? totally crazy!
Streak- I passed Cornerstone Church on our way out of TX today due to the everpresent SA construction (another story). Anyway, I flipped 'em off on the way around- one hand for me, one for you. Just thought you'd like to know. Later- BB
I imagine last night's reported meeting was much like Martin Sheen and Marlon Brando meeting in a darkened room while Jim Morrison drones in the background.
"This is the end, Beautiful friend; This is the end, My only friend; The end of our elaborate plans; the end of everything that stands; The end; No safety or surprise; The end; I'll never look into your eyes... again."

And of course it's still possible that Hillary could get the nomination.

Anon, Hillary may well be looking at her bills. I don't know.
BB, I know that church well and have gestured similarly at it several times.
Ubub, you know that I don't like the Doors. Or donuts with sprinkles. Or cream in my coffee.
