Conservatives agree that constitution is very important
Some parts, of course, are very VERY important. The right to bear arms is critical and cannot be even questioned. Can't even make gun owners uncomfortable or say bad things about them.
But as we just saw from Senator Lindsey Graham, other parts of the Constitution are not so important.
The 5th, 6th, and assumably 8th amendments are more suggestions. But don't you dare touch my guns!

Unfortunately, a lot of conservatives (and many people across the spectrum) are smorgasbord constitutionalists and only pick out the parts they like. Sad.
