The Houston Chronicle obtained a video of Bush speaking to a Republican fundraiser, where he says that Wall Street got drunk, and now has a hangover. Of course, no mistakes by the "decider," but as with everything, bad decisions made by other people.

I found it curious that he wanted to ensure the cameras were off before he made that asinine statement. I think that he knows how horrible he is and that makes me feel sorry for him, in a way--not sympathy or even empathy--but something along the level of the kid who goofs off all semester and then begs for extra credit at the end of the semester.
I actually like that metaphor. He omits that his administration (as one C&L poster pointed out) was the bartender and then some, but notwithstanding, that was potentially a very meaningful allusion coming from a former (?) alchoholic.
