Here it is: Jon Stewart grills Stephen Hayes

One of my favorite lines is when Hayes argues that Cheney appears more wrong than he is because he speaks in public so infrequently. Get that? Because he speaks publicly less, there is more attention to the times he is wrong. Ok.

Jon ate the guy's lunch. Hayes' arguments were so weak I wondered at points if even he believed that bs he wrote about our "steadfast leader."

Those were arguments?

Yeah, this is really sad. Tells us much about not only Cheney, but the people he would trust to write about him.

I might have felt bad for him except I just didn't. To have written an op-ed, as the interview suggests, calling for more "Cheney" in our political life, suggests a level of denial and idiocy that is hard to explain. He got what he deserved after writing such dreck.

Wow, no disrespect to Jon Stewart (who I will admit I am not all that big a fan of), but Cheney should have found a better writer, or at least one that can argue persuasively.

I guess Steve is suggesting that even Jon Stewart could take this guy apart? I would check around and see if any else in the media has taken this guy to task. I would suggest that Hayes has gotten a much easier ride elsewhere. Say what we will about the Daily Show as fake news, but Stewart often asks better questions than so-called legitimate news people.

Hayes seemed to me almost afraid to say anything negative about Cheney. Notice the way he stumbled all over himself when asked real questions?
