Interesting. Perhaps this kind of infighting is understandable this stage in the game, but perhaps we can set aside the nonsense that this woman was properly vetted.

I have heard the same buzz, but it seems to be mostly speculation at this point. This is interesting, though. There have been many that have suggested Palin's lack of interviews and awkwardness in front of the press was due to overmanagement by McCain. I don't know how plausible this is.
I think she appeals to more than the Dobson wing. I get the sense that she is liked by many conservatives, though certainly not all. As to her leadership potential, time will tell, but I am skeptical.
Streak, I say and thought the same thing. I really do not see how people can consider her a legitimate party leader or a viable presidential candidate in 2012. Although she generates a "buzz," she seemed ill-prepared for debates and interviews. What do I know though.
BTW, say Anglican this weekend.

I do understand the concern that McCain's camp has mismanaged her. But she still can't answer a basic question about our system of government, including what the VP does.
I read Jane Mayer's piece on Palin's lobbying effort to become the nominee, and suspect that those conservatives who still like her are in the Rich Lowry, Bill Kristol camp--men who are wowed by her physical appeal. According to that story, the male population of the NRO crowd was very intrigued by Palin. But, like CIL, I have yet to see anything of substance.
CIL, I agree. What the hell do you know? :) Glad you got to see Anglican and if you voted, does that mean this is a leap decade?
I am certainly not trying to convince people to support her, but just reporting on what I hear on other forums.
Just received my absentee ballot, so I will probably be filling it out tomorrow.
Steve, I understand. I am just responding to the polling data that suggests that Palin's support is almost completely from the far right, and her negatives are just huge outside that group.
I would never say that she can't reinvent herself. But as CIL notes, she is not taken seriously on policy or governing issues. Her only positive is her appearance and "spunk." From my perspective, that is all subsumed under her unbelievable willingness to use petty and even race-bating jibes in her communications. For her to be a serious candidate at the national level, she will need to establish some gravitas and actual understanding. Whenever I compare her, for example, to Hillary Clinton, I can't even find a point of comparison. As much as I personally dislike Hillary, I have never thought she was a light weight. Not so with Palin.
Anyway.

Obama supporters who trashed Palin from day one are ranting about her wardrobe and other petty matters, while an anti-American Socialist / Marxist racist is about to highjack our government, with the help of voter fraud, and a corrupt biased media. You'd better wake up America ... or, this country is about to experience an ugly 4 year long nightmare under Obama/Biden !!!
