Lieberman seems to not get it

And is threatening to bolt to the Republicans, to which Democrats say "go for it."

He bolted to the Republicans when he spoke at their convention.

Pretty much. There is a bit of a divide up here in CT regarding Lieberman. Some, on both sides of the aisle, say they are supportive of him for speaking his mind and standing by his convictions no matter how unpopular they may be. The vast majority, though, feel betrayed by him and feel he should have left the Democratic Party altogether as early as his last Senate run. He is losing support up here, and I would be surprised to see him back in the Senate after his next election. There aren't enough Repubs up here to support him if he switched, and too many Dems are too pissed off to vote for him again. He may not make it through the primary if he runs on the Dem ticket.
