Talking Points Memo | Hmmmm: "Rep. Geoff Davis (R-KY) on Obama: 'I'm going to tell you something: That boy's finger does not need to be on the button. He could not make a decision in that simulation that related to a nuclear threat to this country.'"
Holy Shit! In 2008, a Republican congressman refers to an African American US Senator as "boy."

Wow. Davis is 49, Obama 46. I don't think I have ever called someone three years younger than me 'boy'. I would have to say this is veiled racism.
This midwest-northerner-never-been-farther-south-than-Missouri thinks it was pretty blatantly racist. He should have known better.
I spent way too long trying to figure out what he meant by "simulation," when it seems obvious that he meant "situation" and misspoke. Or is that a regional dialect thing?
Regardless, "boy" is way out of line.
