Palin pro birth control?

Or she seemed to be in 2006:
"Palin said last month that no woman should have to choose between her career, education and her child. She is pro-contraception and said she's a member of a pro-woman but anti-abortion group called Feminists for Life.

'I believe in the strength and the power of women, and the potential of every human life,' she said."

I don't have a problem with any of that. Kind of wonder why she would support abstinence only sex ed with that belief?

Probably because the abstinence only focuses on kids. She may support birth control use for adults. I am just guessing here. It is a good question, but I doubt this will be a major issue to most voters, as education seems to have taken a back burner (acording to an article I just read in the latest NEA magazine).

That certainly seems plausible, but also rather irrational to expect kids to be taught only abstinence, but learn how to use contraceptives later?

I agree. You will never hear me push abstinence only. I think it doesn't work and studies seem to prove this, but since when do most politicians want to be bothered with facts?

she has STATED that she is against abortifactants which include birth control pills, IUDs, IUS etc.

Interesting. This piece refers to her as pro-contraceptive. Perhaps only condoms in Palin's accepted world?
