Threats Against IRS Employees On The Rise, Increased 21 Percent From 2008 To 2009
The Republican response to the Austin IRS attack was unnerving. Reminded me of the violent attacks on judges and Republicans making comments like, "that is what happens when you have judicial activism."

I can't say that I am surprised and I have heard others echoing this sentiment. While there are probably some that are happy, I don't think it is fair to equate a lack of surprise with advocating or sympathizing with violence.
Economic downturns are usually accompanied with a rise in crime.
I don't deny the rise in crime and economic dislocation. And I am not suggesting that Republican rhetoric is "causing" this nor that they be held legally liable. But I am suggesting that they are playing with fire with this kind of rhetoric, and their hesitance to condemn this kind of violence (as opposed to kind of agreeing with it) is irresponsible.

Ka-POW. Right on the button.
Smitty like Streak. Very much. Smitty will share much homebrew secrets with Streak.

Heh. I knew this blog thing would eventually work out. :)
A brief Google search shows a variety of condemnations from Republican and Democratic politicians, so I guess I am not seeing this agreement, beyond a lack or surprise...unless you are suggesting that I agree with it.
That being said, I also think it is too soon to categorize this as anything remotely political. Have you read this guy's "manifesto"? It spends just as much time railing against the perils of "big corporations" as it does the "government". Politically, it is all over the place. I think he has more in common with the lunatics that choose very public ways to kill themselves (e.g. people that get into a gun fight with the police).
I haven't seen more than a token amount of sympathy on conservative boards and that was likely coming from trolls. Most seem to think he was a disturbed tax cheat and a murderer.
