Search words

Just found that someone found my blog by searching for "mission accomplished satanists." Little too long for a good band name, but might make an album?

Actually, not anonymous. I'm Martine, a friend of Streak's wife, and she mentions his blog over lunch every now and then.

Found this interesting summary page about CRI / Hank Hanegraaff: http://www.ministrywatch.com/mw2.1/F_SumRpt.asp?EIN=226063412

Things I think are positive about CRI/Hanegraaff:
CRI's online articles are a decent & free resource for those seeking answers to questions of faith.
Hanegraaff's analysis of sub-orthodox and anti-Christian views seems logical and reasoned.
CRI ascribes to a well-articulated evangelical statement of faith.
CRI takes special care to distinguish between "in-house" doctrinal debates between Christians and debates over the essential doctrines of the faith.
The CRI online bookstore is guaranteed (in my opinion) to have ONLY inventory that is doctrinally sound. Now, it may not have stuff that's "out there" but still orthodox (Spong, for example), but I can guarantee that you'll never find shit like "Left Behind," "The Prayer of Jabez," or other hokey, materialistic, ignorant nonsense there.

Things I think are negative about CRI/Hanegraaff:
I find Hanegraaff to be unnecessarily divisive.
I believe Hanegraaff lacks the basic people skills and sensitivity required to properly interact with callers to BAM.
The stuff about his divergence from Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA) standards is probably true. He seems selfish and egotistical enough to have done this.

Personally, I've stopped listening to him. This means I miss out on some really good guests sometimes (Os Guiness, Ravi Zacharias, Lee Strobel, Joni Tada, Norman Geisler, R.C. Sproul, William Lane Craig, James White). But, . . . . it also means I don't have to have his meanness in my head. It got so I would physically cringe every time I heard a caller stammer, pause, or otherwise "be human", because H. would impatiently jump in on them. And heaven forbid they have problems with what he was saying. He often used theology nomenclature and Bible-speak to distance himself from the great unwashed, and a Zelig like me often found myself crying on their behalf.

Anyway, looking forward to reading more of your blog, as I am able.

Kindest regards,
Martine
