I will say something good about Bush

Maybe bacause of the new year. I have asked Bush defenders to give me something tangible as a success by this president. I couldn't think of a thing. The war is a disaster and now even Bush trolls are blaming Iraq, just as they blamed the poor in New Orleans.

But here is one good thing. And this information comes to me, not from Bush fans, but first from a liberal actor (Matt Damon) who doesn't like Bush, and from SOF who alerted me to this (from the liberal Washington Post, btw).

The president has tripled direct humanitarian and development aid to the world's most impoverished continent since taking office and recently vowed to double that increased amount by 2010 -- to nearly $9 billion.

I really don't know what his motivation is for this. But it is a good thing. One good thing. Not enough to undo all the bad, but a good thing.
