GOP Rep: I'm 'Struggling' On My $174K Salary

An interesting clip from a Wisconsin town hall meeting where a freshman Republican says that he is struggling with his 176k salary, while the bus driver in the audience is talking about his wife having to take a second job. But the Congressman still wants Wisconsin public employees to take more of a pay cut.

Reminds me of that line from last month. 3% increase in taxes on the rich is socialism, while asking the working class to take a 14% pay cut is called "doing your part."

This sucks.

I would never ever condone suicide bombing. But when circumstances really pile up like this, I can understand how somebody might see it as a reasonable solution. I don't agree, but I see where their head might be at.

On another note: Coyne's "Why Evolution is True" is a page-turner. I am burning through it. I love it.

I make much less than $174k and am not struggling. I fear the loss of my job, but know what I make makes me one of the lucky ones in society.

Yeah, I don't get this at all. I think this speaks to the tremendous disconnect in Republican politics. His 174k is justified because he has a lot of debt and works hard. The bus drivers 1/3 is too much.
