"Giuliani lost because he's a creepy weirdo, and the more you see him, the more that becomes apparent. Moreover, his entire campaign was built around the fact that he happened to be the mayor of a city that was attacked by terrorists, and even stupid people eventually realized that wasn't a particularly compelling rationale for being president."

Ha, nice. I'm glad to see him gone. I can't decide whether I want Huckabee to drop out sooner, or hang on longer to cost Romney and McCain more money.
After Supah Tuesday, it'll all be over but the shouting. My predication is that both Huckabee and Romney drop out after Feb 5.
My feeling is that both parties are getting itchy to finish the primary process. It's gone on for so long (seemingly), and each moment has been dissected so thoroughly in the press (seemingly), that fatigue is setting in, and everyone's ready to get to the general.
I have no evidence whatsoever to support this, except my own exhaustion with the process. But I've never been one to shy away from extrapolating the universal from the personal.
Because everybody feels the way I feel.
I think you are on to something. Maybe they are all this way, but this one does seem the longest.
I imagine they're all this long, but it seems like there's a lot more constant media coverage of this one. Susan Moeller has talked about compassion fatigue, but I definitely have primary fatigue.
I think this one really has been longer than the previous ones. But maybe not.
It is exhausting. I can't even imagine what it is like for the candidates or their staffs. I couldn't do it physically, I don't think. To say nothing of the very high likelihood that I would tell someone like Tim Russert to fuck off.
That doesn't play well in the politics.
It is tiring for me because I was mostly undecided when the primary season started. I liked Edwards, now he is out. I am considering Obama, but I am not totally sold. Most of the posters here have a feel for my polictics by now...why should I vote for Obama?
Steve, I started to answer you here, and then it merited a full post. I hope others here join in.
You know why it's been on some much? The writer's strike. There's no actual TV being made at this point, so there's a loooooooot of hours that need filling.
