"In his book 'Meeting Jesus Again for the First Time,' Marcus Borg describes the confusion and trauma that occurred when his childish images of Jesus collided with the scientific worldview of our culture. As I read his words, I felt like he was telling my own story. How well I remember when that collision began."

Borg is awesome. Resistance is futile. (Trek reference there.)
Streak- Read that one not long ago and liked it so much I bought several other books of his. I'm now reading "Reading the Bible Again For the First Time: Taking the Bible Seriously But Not Literally". Good stuff.-Later-BB
I haven't read any of his stuff. Will have to give them a look.
His stuff seems to be well respected and well presented (according to reviews). I'll have to admit that I don't usually like the approach that some take where they just focus on the stuff they like and ignore the stuff that disagrees with their view of the world. I will see if my library has his books.
I think you'd like it. He's interesting to me in that he has a strong faith that has endured his journey through modern critical analysis of the scriptures and how they were written and compiled. His questions, challenges, and affirmations are refreshing._BB
