Gordon wanted to like the show, but just found it bad tv. Unwatchable. And he makes a great point about those who complain about it:
But I think all the uproar from Christians is symptomatic of a more disturbing trend. More and more Christians seem to think that affirmation from our culture is where they will find their power. Since when do religions need affirmation from television stations? That's a little shallow, don't you think? What we should be doing is practicing our devotion and letting our changed lives speak for themselves.

I watched the show last night with my wife. (We taped it since we weren't home and wanted to see what it was all about.) We found it to be fairly funny, nothing special but something we would definitely watch again. We talked about all of the hype afterward. It certainly did not merit any of the criticisms or boycotts that came before anyone actually even saw the show. It was not offensive in the least, and handled the religious aspects of the show fairly respectfully, we thought. Some groups of Christians are just way too serious, and by calling NBC anti-Christian just shows how overly sensitive they are. These are the same people who have been griping about the way The Simpsons portrays Christians, even though the show takes numerous pot shots at almost every religion out there! I haven't heard complaints from those of other religions, only Christians! Get a sense of humor, and stop taking yourselves so seriously already!
