Turns out it is sciatica

Finally went to the doctor this morning and he was very helpful. Said that even though I hadn't had the tingling or numbness often associated with sciatica, it is indeed some kind of constriction on the sciatic nerve. Better, he said, that having a problem with the IT band or a torn muscle. (For the record, this was my yoga teacher's first thought).

So I am home with some meds and hoping to be in a better mood soon.

Hope you find some meds you can live with. Painkillers always send me for a loop, except codeine, which I like a little too much.

Praying for you. Whether you like it or not. :)

Awesome Tony. I'll be praying with you. Sciatica is actually something he can work with! I hope the meds kick in and you can sleep tonight Streak.

Steroids and muscle relaxers for now. There goes my Olympic career, but hopefully those will help enough so that I don't actually have to try the pain pills.

Thanks for the good thoughts, everyone.

Ok. I've been out of pocket a few weeks and I return to find the discussion centering around Streak's YOGA injury? BB

Heavens forfend, a yoga injury? No, I think it must have been a blogging injury.

I am still wondering what Mary meant by "back to normal soon" and what the bootlegger means by "a few weeks?"

:)

"Blogging injury" is probably accurate, btw. I should sue Blogger.com for the cost of my new steroid addiction.

Sciatica can often times seem impossible to cure. The pain can be so severe that you cannot function and perform your work duties and it even can interfere with your social and recreational activities. Stretching and strengthening exercise along with spinal decompression therapy were the keys to curing my sciatica and leg pain.
